September - The month of games...

September 29, 2017

Back in 1966, Charles Foley and Neil Rabens invented the game twister which was one of the first games that got the players up using their bodies as playing pieces. It was and is a game that focuses on skill and motion. Well we put a Twist on Twister by combining Twister and letters.

We've had an exciting month with our main theme being around games.  Our older group started a program at Oakwood Library on Wednesdays. This is a 12 week program that works with kids on developing and creating their own board games. Electronics aside, the focus is on physical games kids can play inside.

We've also been playing with games and numbers.  Letting the kids get creative in creating their own games in larger groups or smaller one on one groups.

We hope you were able to visit us at the Fall Fair on September 23rd.  We were there showing off the awesome skateboard we made over the summer along with doing what we love. Making! Our special guest this Fall is Boomerang Bags and we were happy that they were able to join us at the Fall Fair.

Speaking of Boomerang Bags, we are excited to have them in for our first POP-UP Maker Event of the season. Be sure to join us on Saturday, October 14th from 11 am to 2 pm.  For more information on Boomerang Bags and the great work they do, please click here.
