Sliding Puzzle DIY (Ages 6 to 9)

 

Put your brain to the test with this fun and easy to make sliding puzzle game. Slide the pieces within the frame, moving only one piece at a time.  This brain teaser is a little challenging but you won't want to put it down once you start playing.

Start Date: Monday Nov 2

Time: 4pm to 5pm

Cost: $15

Supplies need:

cardboard

Scissors 

Pin or pencil

paper

Ruler

Glue stick

Coloring pencil or Crayons

The Power of Circuits using LED (Age 6 to 9) 

 

How does the light turn on? 

We've added a twist by using Play-Doh (no cooking required) as our base in this program where kids will learn how a battery works and the basic circuitry needed to turn on an LED light. 

Start Date: Tuesday Nov 3

Time: 4pm to 5pm

Cost: $15

Additional costs:  $5 LED, Battery and the wires

Supplies need:

1 cup of flour

Half cup of salt

Half cup of water

Food coloring optional

Writing in Japanese  (Age 6 to 9)

Have you ever wanted to learn how to write your name in Katakana? Katakana is one component of the Japanese writing system and when we introduced this program it was such a hit, we brought it back. If your kids love Pokémon they can write the characters, which is more a familiar to them.

 

Start Date: Wed Nov 4

Time: 4pm to 5pm

Cost: $15

Supplies need:

Black paint

Paint brush

Thick paper or Canvas

DIY Boom Box  (Age 6 to 10) (Parents needed)

 

This DIY project was a big hit in summer camps. Kids will learn how to make a boombox out of cardboard where they can play there own music using an iPhone or Android.

 

This program is a two day program family class, adult supervision required.

 

Start Date: Nov 4 & Nov 11

Time: 4pm to 5pm

Cost: $25 for both days

We provide the free boxes

 

Supplies need:

2 Cardboard box

2 cups 

Hot glue gun

Empty paper towel roll

Pen or pencil

Thing to decorate your box

Scissors

Exacto knife
